UFCA SELECTED AS A 2009-2010 ACSI EXEMPLARY SCHOOL
United Faith Christian Academy has been selected as a 2009-2010 ACSI Exemplary School for the submission of our "Be the Blessing" program. The "Be the Blessing" program is based on 1 Peter 3:8-9 and was the foundation for our buddy class program, served as our theme for the year and the basis for the launch of our Code of Conduct. We used the concepts in those verses to establish an anti-bullying culture within the school. The Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) is the largest and most prestigious organization in Christian education. Each year they solicit schools to submit new and innovative programs in a competition to be named an ACSI Exemplary School. ACSI has over 5500 member schools in 106 countries.
We will be featured in a special upcoming edition of the ACSI journal where other schools from around the world will be encouraged to emulate the success we experienced with this program. It was the hard work of many teachers, staff and volunteers that has ultimately led to this honor.

FALCONS4CHRIST Coach Woods’ Monday night FCA group has changed its name to Falcons4Christ and has created a website for students, parents, teachers and staff to get meeting notes, devotionals and upcoming events notices. www.falcons4christ.blogspot.com
When asked about the reason for the change, Coach Woods responded, “While FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) continues to be a great partner and provides a recognizable platform upon which to build our group, I feel Falcons4Christ better exemplifies who we are. Our group is made up of a wide variety of students from every background. We are a non-exclusive group who welcomes everyone looking to grow closer to Christ and learn how to be a better reflection of His love to all we encounter.”
The group has met several times over the summer, including a hiking trip to Crowder’s Mountain and recently an ice cream party. They are currently working out details for this upcoming school year, some of the plans/topics include: o Activities o Missions work/trip o Whitewater rafting trip o Concert / worship event o Leadership / mentoring for Lower School students o Topics o Bible studies – I & II Corinthians o How to be a better friend by being an accountability partner o How to resist the temptations that surround us o What is love and how to express it o Biblical prophecy o How to stand out and excel in a anti-Christian world
“If you have never come out to a meeting, give it a try. There are no topics off limits. There is no judging. The group is about being committed to Christ and each other in a real, noticeable and world-changing way.”
Meetings are Monday nights from 7-8:30pm in the Crown Room. All Upper School (6th – 12th grade) students are welcome.
Coach Woods can be reached at sw1224@carolina.rr.com
**Falcons4Christ is not an official UFCA organization; however, it enjoys the support and blessing of Dr. Siragusa and the school.**
